After surviving our jungle trek we were able to soak up the culture of Chiang Mai. The first thing on my list was a cooking class!
At Mama Noi's Thai Cookery Class we walked around a local food market, got a tour of the organic farm at the culinary school, then cooked 5 dishes.
This pig will probably be pork fried rice one day, but for now he's just adorable.
Fresh picked ingredients
Prep for chicken soup
Making fresh curry paste
Pad Thai!
Aim our cooking coach was a hilarious ladyboy. She may or may not have just made a suggestive comment about my peanut smashing skills.
After cooking all day, we went out for a night on the town with our hiking buddies.
It's a necessary evil. The bugs love me.
Muay Thai boxing! The event started off with 10 year olds fighting each other. It was super awkward to see little kids bleed.
Then there was the 6 blindfolded boxers kicking the crap out of each other.
Finally the main event! Syria vs Chiang Mai!
