Franz-tastic adventures

My sailing partner, Cat, visited Franz!!!  We hopped over to the second coolest (pun intended) glacier on the west coast... Fox Glacier!!

From North Island to South Island

Not exactly hiking attire

Terminal Face

Like no time has passed!  So happy to see this girl again!
The weather in Franz has not been good.  We have flown one day in May.  The constant rain and fog just isn't safe for helicopters.  Luckily, I work regardless of the weather.  Someone has to crush the dreams of all the tourists.  The weather has actually been so crazy, that one day this week we 500mm of rain!!!  That's over a foot and a half of water in one day!  Needless to say my gumboots have been very handy.  I walk to work in water proof trousers, gumboots, wind breaker and an umbrella.

Ally stepped on glass and got it stuck in her foot.  Matt and Jess to the rescue!

Day trip to Hoki for groceries!

We had an end of season party for work and the ladies of FJGG had a blast!

Boss ladies!

The boys were busy putting chopsticks in their beards...

This picture means a lot to me.  I was taking a selfie with some of my coworkers when this face popped into the frame... someone was trying to photobomb!!  Then I realized I knew that face.  Frankie and I met in Wellington, we instantly clicked and spent 4 days wandering the streets together.  It was so nice to randomly bump into an old NZ friend.  She's on her way back to the UK but I truly hope I get to randomly photobomb her some day.

Maybe free unlimited alcohol isn't a good thing...
...especially when you work at 8am

FOOD!!

I love vegemite toast.... that is all.

Every Wednesday I treat myself to King Tiger
First time cooking steak!!  All by myself!
My favorite Brit taught me how to make Beans on Toast... it's weird but good I guess

Not your normal quiz night

All of Franz came out to support the charity quiz night!

We definitely didn't win.
A rodeo came to town!  There was Jack Daniels, country music, and an mechanical bull!  I felt right at home.

We are officially in fall almost winter and with that comes the need for different activities.  A couple Franz friends and I have started a knitting club!!
